Buying or selling a home can be stressful. Your real estate agent's job is to be there to guide you through the process and make it easier. My number one priority is looking out for my clients and making sure everyone involved in the process is doing their job. There are a lot of people involved in a home sale. You have lenders, title officers, other agents, and the list goes on. I am the one directing the show, making sure deadlines are met and nothing gets overlooked.
It is exciting to open a new chapter in life and should be fun. I love getting to be a part of people’s lives as they embark on a new adventure. Whether you’re getting into your first house or sending the kids off to college and moving out of the burbs to get into the bungalow on the beach you’ve been dreaming of for years let me be there to help you figure it out. So, even if you’re just starting to put together a plan for what you’d like to do I am happy to sit down and walk through the details with you.
Here’s a little about me personally (so you know who you're working with.) The road that lead me to life on the beach with my wife Emily and two young boys (Tommy and Bruce) was a little less than traditional. I grew up in Alaska with all the bear stories and grand adventures a kid could ever hope for. That lead to a career as a wildland firefighter on a USFS Hotshot crew based out of Eastern Oregon. Which just so happened to be where I met my wife, side by side digging fire line. We decided to “settle down” which for us was moving back to Alaska to start a guided fishing business on the Kenai Peninsula. After a number of years making my office my seat behind the wheel of a guide boat we were compelled to start over in Portland Oregon to raise our kids close to their mom’s family. But as it turned out city life just did not stick for us and we were drawn to the shores of the Oregon Coast where we now call home. Our family’s adventurous spirit lives on today through our love of surfing, backpacking along the coastal trails, and in my newly found passion of ultra marathons. I’m currently training for my 2nd 100-mile ultra marathon and can usually be found on the trails of Cape Perpetua when not busy helping clients buy and sell homes on the Central Oregon Coast.
Life is short, buy the beach house!
I love showing people all that the Central Oregon Coast has to offer: great views, great restaurants, great activities, and great neighborhoods. I can walk you through all the stages of buying a home, from finding just the right property to giving you the keys to your new dream home.
I am experienced in all stages of the Real Estate transaction: getting to know you and your wish list, negotiating just the right price and terms, preparing and distributing documents, assisting with inspections, guiding your financial process, going through title and escrow, all the way through to closing. I also have the expertise and experience of the Windermere Real Estate Company at my disposal.
Are you looking to sell and move on? I have lots of ideas to advertise and get your house sold quickly and easily.
I come from an educational background and know that attention to detail is important. It is important that my client understands all the processes and documents that are involved in buying or selling a home. I walk you through all the details in language you can understand. Are you in a hurry? Or would you rather take it slow? I am very flexible and work in your time frame.
Along with the knowledge and expertise needed for a successful transaction I believe it is important to make the experience fun and you should know a little about the agent you are working with… So, when I am not helping clients you may find me kayaking the Pacific Ocean or local rivers, riding quads with my husband and daughter, hiking and biking.
Please let me be the broker to make your dreams come true.
When you are looking for your next or first home, it is nice to have an experienced and reliable Broker helping you; saving you time and money; keeping you focused on what is important to you!
When you are selling your home it is nice to have a proven and trusted advisor looking out for your best interest, and helping you navigate through the potential liabilities.
I am that experienced, proven, reliable and trusted advisor that is ready to meet you where you are and get you where you want to be.
I lead a three person management team which, with the assistance of a 15 person sales force, managed to take a languishing downtown condominium project that had been on the market, inactive, for over a year, and within just two months had 5 units under contract and at the end of the first year, another 6 units had closed. If you have a difficult property and are looking for a cutting edge marketing attention getter, I am that person, with a proven track record of success in selling the "lifestyle".
In addition to ongoing support for the Windermere Foundation, I have been active in the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation since 1999, participating in various charity fund raisers. I volunteer 8 hours a month assisting with the facilitation of a financial planning/education series at my church and together with my wife, we deliver fresh baked bread to first time visitors and guest to Salem Alliance Church. Most recently I have been a volunteer tour guide, giving visitors to the Oregon State Capital guided tours including the pinnacle of visiting the golden pioneer!
I grew up on a dairy in Central California where I learned the farmers work ethic. After serving 18 years, I retired from the US Coast Guard in 1996. There I learned to put others first and how to finish a job, no matter how long or how far away from home that job may have been. I have retained their motto, Semper Paratus, which means Always Ready. In 2003 I completed my BS degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix. An educational journey that I began in North Bend Oregon in 1986 was finally complete. My wife and I make our home in West Salem where we raised 5 children.
I've been involved in the Real Estate Industry for 2+ decades and on the Central Oregon Coast for the majority of that time. Your business is supremely important to me. Never have I had a conflict of interest while negotiating on my Employer's behalf (you would be The Employer). Whether you're pondering moving in or moving on, please consider this : I'm known for overall market knowledge, co-operative relationships with other Real Estate professionals, full disclosure of all relevant information, honesty and fair play! Ask around the townes that I service; the title companies, gas station, grocery store, motel ... you'll find that my reputation is based on running a professioal business, based on the highest level of integrity. When it comes to representing other's interests in Real Estate (perhaps the most important transaction in many of our lives), my motto has always been 'the buck stops here'. I don't believe in excuses. Therefore, along with my skilled support staff, I'm compelled to provide only the best service to The Principals in each and every transaction that I'm blessed to participate in. I do everything in my power to insure seamless transitions for Buyers and Sellers alike. Please allow me to be of service to you.
It's my observation that our Coastline in The Great Northwest is unsurpassed in aesthetics and affordability, plus it offers an overall excellent quality of life. Within minutes one finds Tidepools loaded up with Sea Urchins, Starfish, Sand Dollars & Agates and Old Growth Forests featuring Bald Eagles, Roosevelt Elk and other wild critters too numerous to enumerate. As the result of so many encounters with nature's wondrous critters, I know my life has been enriched beyond my wildest expectations. We're pretty sure we've discovered the center of the universe! Sometimes when we plan VACATIONS, we'll explore the beach, which is actually our back yard, or the forest... WE"RE HERE! The novelty of this place just doesn't seem to wear off; the vistas change daily and we're never bored with what we experience on our treks! I was born in San Antonio; migrated west in '62; spent my "wonder bread years" attending Jr. High through College in San Francisco. Having travelled internationally, I landed in Lincoln County via Lahaina in '91. I'm proud to present our little corner of the world to all weary travellers and seekers of serenity & solitude alike. ... not to mention great local eateries, fine art galleries, and cultural activities.
Every home sold by me or my associates at Windermere adds to a fund established to help the homeless. I am personally active in local service organizations and am grateful to have recieved the gift that comes with volunteering. We're part of a very community oreinted network of Beach Townes and Villages and at this juncture in history there're many opportunities to share with each other. Come and join us!
I enjoy providing service to my community, I actually consider my position, as a Real Estate Professional, an avocation, and I benefit by helping others find their desired Real Estate Investments. Other than affording our lifestyle, in this unique part of the country, my job facilitates long lasting relationships (which I value greatly) and occasional treks in the woods with my dog. I have invested in Real Estate, locally. I believe in it! I highly recommend it and hope to help facilitate your Real Estate wants & needs in the very near future!
