There is bead board on the walls and ceiling, a window seat in the living room, and the upstairs loft is a great place for an office or large bedroom area. Additional improvements include: reinforced foundation, new electrical wiring, heaters and windows. The eat in kitchen has new all new appliances, and the entire inside has been freshly
painted.

In addition to its classic Central Oregon Coast views, the property has added value with an extra lot in the back which can be used to build a garage or can be held for an investment for future sale. The property is zoned R-4, allowing a third option: use that extra lot for multi family rental income.

This home located at 127 Hurbert St. is all about coastal living: white water views and coastal breezes, bay front culture, shopping, banks, and restaurants. It’s the perfect getaway or primary home for year-round living.

When you consider purchasing a home in Newport, a great location is usually at the top of the list. The home located at 1106 SW 8th in Newport meets that criteria. The spacious 3 bedrooms 2 bath home has over 1600 square feet with an open living floor plan. It is on a double lot that provides a large back yard with a patio for entertaining and outdoor enjoyment. The yard is flat and level with native plantings which makes it easy to maintain.

The family room provides a large space for home entertainment and also includes a large laundry room and pantry area. The oversized, 2-car garage is great for protecting cars from the salt air while still providing extra space for a workshop. This is a rare opportunity, as the home has not been on the market for more than 45 years.

The location of this home is especially appealing because it is on the corner in a quiet neighborhood, yet only 2 blocks from the beach and one block from the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse Park. In addition, it is close to grocery shopping and an easy 1/3 mile walk to the Historic Bay Front with its wide selection of restaurants and fish markets (of course!).

If you are looking for a well-constructed home that features one-level living, please get in touch with SonjaLovas to schedule a viewing.

As you turn off Highway 101 on NW Short Street you will approach the gated entrance to an amazing ocean beachfront home. You will also find yourself surrounded by lush native plantings that are forever green. As soon as you enter the home, the expansive wall of windows revealing the ocean view will take your breath away! The home has an open and free-flowing floor plan with vaulted ceilings making it perfect for entertaining, yet cozy when seated around the fireplace with its antique mantel. The kitchen has been updated with a beach theme and carefully selected seashells have been inserted into the tile back splash. The large open dining room area allows for a table of almost any size to easily accommodate large gatherings or family.

Up a short flight of steps from the kitchen is the Master bedroom and bathroom suite with an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean through expansive windows. There it is easy to imagine yourself falling asleep or waking up to the sounds and sights of the ocean and also seeing a variety of fishing and crabbing vessels that frequent the area. The master bedroom also has a special feature you won’t find in most homes: a soaking tub with an ocean view. The current owner installed it so his wife could relax and have a glass of wine while gazing out at the ocean. There is also a full walk-in closet, and a curved shower.

If you were to walk down a short flight of stairs from the kitchen area to the lower level, you would find a ground-level bedroom with a wonderful ocean view. This area also includes an updated full bath and the third bedroom’s view is of the native plants that encompass the grounds.

The home also has an oversized 3-car garage. The single bay has a rough ½ bath and a storage closet.

You will fall in love the moment you enter this house. We believe it is the best value for an oceanfront home on the market from Newport to Yachats! For a private showing, contact Deanna Tacchini at 541-961-1872 or Sonja Lovas at 541-961-3866.

These are gathered up weekly and taken to local distribution points where they are shared with individuals and families in the coastal area. This is our 10th year participating in this effort and it feels really good to give a helping hand.

Please feel free to drop off new or gently used items at either of our offices:

Waldport Oregon is located in Lincoln County south of Newport and north of Yachats. Residents often refer to Waldport as the town “where the mountains meet the sea”. The Alsea River and Bay is very popular for fishing, crabbing, kayaking, clamming, and there are public docks and a boat launch at Robinson Park picnic area.

One of the most amazing features of Waldport is the beach area where you can walk about 7 miles from Alsea bay to Yachats. It’s not highly populated so it feels like your own private beach, which allows you to enjoy all it’s beauty. While walking on the beach you’ll probably become a beachcomber, as you discover a variety of shells and interesting driftwood that continually wash ashore.

3333 SW Pacific Coast Highway in Waldport.
The house for sale located at 3333 SW Pacific Coast Highway in Waldport has an unobstructed view of the ocean that will never be threatened since no homes can be built on the west side of the highway. The nice thing about having an ocean view is that is provides a continual change of views. The house is sited on beautiful property providing a peaceful, serene setting.

Finding a well maintained home can be a challenge on the Oregon Coast, but look no farther than 3333 SW Pacific Coast Highway in Waldport. Some of the recent improvements include new siding, new roof, cement floor in the RV garage, replaced all kitchen appliances, hot water heater, new window screens, remodeled “guest suite” and added half bath. Replaced septic with new, state-of-the-art one. All the updates and improvements enhance the overall beautify and livability of this home.

Windermere Real Estate Broker Cobi D’Eau Claire presented a $400 check to the Waldport Lion’s Club on Tuesday, July 17 and another $400 was presented to Waldport’s Seashore Family Literacy program. These checks bring to almost $3,000 the proceeds from the annual “Leah’s Memorial Wet and Wild 5K Annual Fun Run and Walk” contributed over the past five years.

The event is the brain child of Windermere Real Estate Broker-Owner Michael H. Smith who organized it to carry on the legacy of newspaper reporter and editor Leah Sue Hopkins. Hopkins, a Waldport resident who succumbed to cancer in 2008, was a strong advocate for the south county communities, the Waldport schools and her beloved Waldport Irish sports teams. Through her tireless efforts, Hopkins successfully resurrected the popular Waldport Beachcomber Days where she served as President of the association in 2007.

There are a thousand reasons to visit Oregon’s beaches. Every season has its own attraction to be here. Spring time is a good time for whale watching. The summer time is excellent for relaxation and cooling off when the weather is hot. The winter time with its spectacular storms and crashing waves. Of course autumn is the best time to enjoy the beaches when most tourists have gone and you’ll have the beach all to yourself.

Any season is great for agate hunting. Whenever you see rocks and pebbles on the beach, you will be able to find agates. You can tell when you have found a good spot for finding agates when you see a cluster of people intently looking at the ground, oblivious from anything that goes on around them.

Agates are a variety of quartz called chalcedony. They are clear, glassy rocks in a wide variety of colors, often in bands. Especially when the sun is out, they’ll sparkle and stand out from dull rocks. Agates appear in all sizes from small pebbles to large baseball-size rocks. Wherever you find agate, you are likely to also find another kind of quartz called Jasper which is mottled yellow, red, brown or green.

Many people hunting for agates polish the stones and turn them into jewelry or pretty ornaments. Historically, agate has been used for hardcarving since ancient times.

Next time you’re visiting the beach, come prepared with a bag or bucket to collect your treasures. You may also want to pick up a copy of the pocket guide, Agates of the Oregon Coast by K.T. Myers and Richard Petrovic, available online or in virtually all local bookstores and gift shops. One last thing to check: the tide tables. But be careful, once you catch the agate hunting bug, your walks on Oregon beaches will never be the same.

At the other end of the tunnel we were greeted with a tranquil setting of cedar-shaked buildings sitting against one of the World’s most spectacular backdrops, the mighty Pacific Ocean. I was in awe!

The Inn protects residents from car noise by providing a golf cart and bellhop that took us from their tree-canopy parking lot to the condo. Each condo has large balconies to sit and soak in Mother Nature. Inside, a large wall of windows preserves your views while a large fireplace can take off the Coastal chill. It was a spectacular visit!

Whether you are visiting for a romantic weekend or a week of family fun, there is something for everyone to do at the Inn at Otter Crest. There is a tennis court, exercise room, game room, club house, restaurant, playground, hot tub, and the swimming pool overlooks the Pacific Ocean with such great views, you might forget to swim. The walking trails and beach access will take you to the adventurous Devil’s Punchbowl, tide pools, whale watching, viewing the harbor seals, playing on the beach, and much more.

Even though the Inn sits high above the ocean, there is still easy access to the beach.

I now live just 10 minutes from the Inn at Otter Crest and have the pleasure of helping buyers purchase their dream of owning a piece of this stunning 35-acre piece of Heaven on Earth. Condo purchases can be full ownership or shared ownership. Shares are available from 1/12 to 1/2. Many condos are lived in full-time, while others are in the hotel rental pool allowing owners the option of generating income when not using the unit for their own pleasure. There is a fit for everyone at the Inn at Otter Crest!

Newport - Yaquina Bay

Fireworks begin at dusk. Plan to arrive early to the bayfront or surrounding areas. This is one of the larger displays on the coast, and usually attracts around 5,000 people. As the fireworks will be set off from a location near the new Port of Newport international terminal on Bay Rd, the best viewing will be from the South, including the Hatfield Marine Science Center.
